Autumn in colour

Along the coast in clefts on the mountains there are lots of trees with bright red berries. The leaves are yet not yellow but will turn so shortly. I prepare for the autumn and sit inside in the dusk making my embroidery.

I brought these Easter eggs from Austria. You can find them there in almost every restaurant and shop as decoration. I wonder how they make them so colourful?

Surprise in Austria

My sister-in-law found a shop in Salzburg full of yarns in all possible shades. As a birthday present I could pick a basket full. What a treat! Thank you Raimund and Astrid!

Finally - the sun has returned and I celebrate that with o bunch of flowers!

Iceman

Here are all my memories from the visit to Jukkasjärvi: the iceman, the weapons, the snow, the stars at night, the cold outside and the warmth inside the sauna.

Icewoman

We bought two candleholders at the Icehotel in Jukkasjärvi outside Kiruna. They have the same shape as the iceglasses you get in the icebar - very neat!I placed my handybag called "Icewoman" next to them as a reminder of the cold night we spent there.

Qianlong

I saw a stamp on an old bowl from China with the meaning Qianlong. I had to do a lot of counting when I embroidered this one, but I thought it would make a sweet pattern. Here is the result : a tiny handybag in brown and gold.

My mother-in-law passed away not so long ago. I made this bag in memory of her - a red star on a yellow background and and a blue ribbon. It would have suited her fine. Today is her birthday.

In Search of Inspiration

Here is a window covered with iron bars on a monastery not far from Laxå where we made a stop on our journey down to the west coast.

This is a picture of my favourite beach. The ice makes wonderful patterns in the mountain creeks.

For my Sister

I created this bag for my sister who soon has her sixtieth birthday. The bag is full with symbols from her life - family, animals, garden, students and the west coast.
